ColourPop bronzers, my review

Let’s be real here: it’s becoming very difficult to keep pace with all the new ColourPop releases…

The bronzers, the highligters, the numerous collabs and very soon the matte lips liquid lipsticks (who’s excited????), I’m starting to feel overwhelmed!

So, the only way to not suffer from the syndrome of Buy now, blog never: be methodical and tell you about all these products in order.
So let’s do that, starting today with the bronzers! wink

I’ve already mentioned ColourPop products on this blog several time and as you know, I’m totally obsessed with this brand which offers a range of makeup products with incredible colors and innovative textures and all this for a ridiculous price.
My only concern at the moment is that they don’t deliver internationally. But given their success and expansion of their product lines, I think it’ll be probably very soon!

ColourPop bronzers, presentation:

The ColourPop bronzers have exactly the same size, the same formula and the same price as the Super Shock Cheeks blushes I reviewed a few weeks ago.
The only difference is obviously the range of colors which is for some shades most suitable for being used as bronzers.

I was wondering if there would be some specific colors for contouring but apparently, there aren’t. They’re rather warm shades which are perfect to warm up the complexion.

ColourPop bronzers, my test and thoughts:

– Innovation and formula: 

The texture is exactly the same as the Super Shock Shadows and the Super Shock Cheeks blushes: a powder, cream and mousse texture, with that soft feeling when you touch it.

– Color Range:

There are 6 colors in the range: 4 mattes and 2 satin. I opted for Bon Voyage (matte), Skinny Dip (mat) and Paradise Cove (satin).

Bon Voyage is pretty light, too light for me IMO. I will try it again this winter but really, it’s barely noticeable on my skin. It’ll be perfect for very fair skin!
Skinny Dip is perfect for my skin tone. A nice tan shade, rather warm without being orange that warms my skin tone just the right amount. Perfect! smile
Paradise Cove is very pretty. It’s just a little darker than Skinny Dip but it works just fine with my skin color.

– Packaging:

It’s the same round box (very pop 60s) as for blushes. Same caution when you use them though: you need to close them tight after using them to prevent them from drying!

– Application:

I tried several types of makeup brushes and I came to the conclusion that I prefer to use rather dense brushes such as the NARS, the MUFE or angled brushes like the 103 by ZOEVA or the Angled Stippling Brush by MUG.
The ColourPop texture is very dense, so it’s hard to take some product with a too soft brush.

Regarding my method of application, I always use the method of 3 or E (as I explain in my post How to apply bronzer makeup).

– Pigmentation:

The pigmentation is good however, you must build up the product a little. Which I personally prefer.
Nothing worse than a bronzer which is impossible to blend! Here, you can build it up if you want a very bronzy result or blend it if you want it to be subtle. It’s really the perfect bronzer for beginners!

– Finish:

I’m really a fan of the two finishes: the matte is very natural and imperceptible and the satin is subtle and very luminous. I find the latter beautiful during the summer, especially with the sun light! smile

– Lasting Power:

The long-lasting power is very good, as always with the ColourPop products with this kind of texture! They don’t move during the day (8 to 10 hour on me).

– Value For Money:

Excellent! Like a lot of products in this brand. wink

Finally, here are the swatches:

With the swatches, you can really see the warm undertones but no orange whatsoever.

And on me:

I’m sorry, you don’t really see much on my photos but fingers crossed, it should change soon, I’m investing in some lighting gear! wink

The first one, Bon Voyage is clearly too light for me. This may be more a winter bronzer, but as it is almost impossible to see it on me, I’m not so sure… uneasy
The other two are a little more visible. But my purpose when I’m using this type of product is to bring just a little warmth to my face, so the result is still quite discreet because it’s what I want.

– Bon Voyage:

My lipstick here: the Rouge Edition Aqua Laque in the shade Fuchsia Perché .

– Skinny Dip:

My lisptck is a ColourPop, the Lippie Stix Brink.

– Paradise Cove:

My lipstck: Clinique Pop in the shade Cherry Pop.

Great news! Worldwide delivery is finally available for ColourPop! (Well, to be precise, it will be tonight wink )
The brand is now delivering all over the world, except China and Turkey. I don’t know all the details yet but apparently the delivery fees will depend on the location and the weight of each package.
