Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks, my review

I love the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks. As soon as I knew that a liquid version was released, I stalked them on the Sephora website and I bought some, the moment they launched (of course, I almost bought half of the range, showing some measure and restraint, as usual! ^^). So here is my review of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks!

As you probably guessed, I’m a big fan of Bite Beauty, I’ve talked about it many times here. A brand exclusively dedicated to lip products, with a natural and edible formula, what’s not to like? wink
I fall more and more in love with the brand, seeing each release as a pure object of desire. And I find it more and more annoying that the brand is distributed so exclusively.

Indeed, it’s only available at Sephora in the US and Canada, and the store doesn’t deliver worldwide and blocks your order if you don’t order from North-America. I have to order with an address in England and get it shipped back to the UAE. I pay astronomical taxes as well as crazy delivery fees, so it’s not an ideal solution…
I really hope that the brand will open up its distribution a little more in the future because Bite Beauty is definitely one of my favorite lipstick brands!
But because I know that some of my readers have easier access than most of us (lucky you!), I still wanted to talk about it. And if you’re traveling to the United States or Canada, I really recommend you to have a look at their display in Sephora! wink

Let’s see what Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks have to offer!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks, presentation:

What the brand says about them:

“Founder Susanne Langmuir developed 18 modern, wearable shades that you’ve never seen before from Bite. With complex and moody undertones that work perfectly with our new formula, this collection gives everyday lip color an unexpected twist.

This new formula is all about transformation so each shade is aptly named after a cooking technique and the satiny, semi-glaze finish, provides a luxe sheen that makes the shades come alive on lips.

Bite’s most nourishing lipstick, Amuse Bouche, gets liquified. Now, you can have the best of both worlds: rich, high-impact color and an indulgently creamy, comfortable application that glides on with unprecedented precision.

Bite Beauty released a liquid version of one of my fave lipsticks, the Amuse Bouche. The finish of the classic Amuse Bouche lipsticks is semi-matte, but this Liquified version is satin.

Clearly, it’s all about comfort with this liquid formula thanks to all these nourishing ingredients:
– some moisturizing Monoi butter,
– some nourishing coconut oil,
– and antioxidant Resveratrol which helps protect the skin against damages from the environment and urban living.

I really like the packaging that I find very sleek and elegant, and the foam applicator is super convenient to draw nice contours.

There are 18 colors in total in the range, and they retail for $24.

I chose eight yummy shades: Cava, Whip, Éclair, Chutney, Purée, Braised, Candied, and Supreme.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks, my test and thoughts:

– Packaging:

I find it super chic. The gray/ black tube is in a rubberized coating, like most of the brand’s products. It’s in a rectangular shape (or rather a rectangular parallelepiped shape but I’m not sure that you wanted as many geometric details from me wink ) and cool detail, you can see the color of the lipstick because the bottom is in transparent plastic. It’s always practical when you search for your color!

– Texture and feeling on the lips:

The texture is super creamy, and moisturizing, almost “pillowy” on the lips. It’s not sticky like a lip gloss, and it doesn’t “harden” during the day, it remains creamy on the lips. It’s super comfortable and leaves the lips well moisturized.

– Finish:

It is a very nice satin finish, very luminous. They don’t contain any shimmer particles, the colors are all pure, a bit like glossy lacquers.

– Scent/ taste:

A very fruity and yummy fragrance/ taste, typical of Bite Beauty, like mango lemonade, I love it!!

– Pigmentation and opacity:

A very good pigmentation, with just a single pass of the applicator.

 – Color range:

18 shades, very yummy and wearable. The color range is subtle and trendy, as always with Bite Beauty. There are some brighter shades, but it always remains in a very good taste.

– Application:

The application is very easy, thanks to the angled shape foam applicator. You can draw sharp contours easily.
Regarding the Amuse Bouche Liquified texture, let’s be real here, my lips are no longer super young, and I prefer to use a lip pencil underneath because it bleeds a little on me. Especially with the darker/ brighter colors.
Also, I try to avoid to apply a layer that is too thick because it has a slight tendency to transfer, especially on my teeth. I need to blot the excess to avoid this small inconvenience.

– Lasting power:

It’s a very creamy texture, so it does transfer a bit. It still keeps a beautiful intensity several hours on the lips. It doesn’t really resist a meal, I need to touch up after eating. It fades quite nicely during the day and leaves a nice tint on the lips, like a soft lip stain (especially the dark and bright colors). It’s also quite easy to touch-up. It layers well on the lips.
On me, it lasts about 5-6h, so I would say it’s a decent lasting power.

– Value for money:

The Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks retail for $24. For me, it’s a good value for money because it’s a great quality (the formula is top notch!) And I love the colors I own (well, almost all of the shades, there is one miss uneasy ).

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified lipsticks, the shades:

– Cava:
Let’s start with the only one which didn’t work for me. I ordered this shade because I’ve always been intrigued by the color Cava, which exists in all the Bite Beauty lipsticks formulas. It’s apparently one of their cult colors. And errr, I don’t really understand why this color is one of the most popular.
It’s a mauve beige, with a slightly gray undertone (at least on me). It’s a very light color, it gives a nice volume to the lips, but unfortunately, it also clashes a lot with my skin color and makes me look like a corpse (not really the look I want). However, this shade is very pretty added at the center of the lips, with a darker color below. So, I can still make it work. But worn alone, it looks quite terrible on me, unfortunately.

– Whip:
A nice peachy nude. On me, it looks quite beige even if the brand speaks of a pinky beige. It has a very warm undertone. It’s perfect for a nude lip effect with a more intense eye makeup.

– Éclair:
A soft pink with a light warm undertone. It’s super flattering and goes with all the makeup looks.

– Chutney:
My favorite (no surprise here ^^). It’s a pinky mauve brown. You already know, I love this kind of colors, and I probably have too much already but what can I tell you? I can’t resist them apparently!

– Purée:
My surprise color crush in this range. It’s a stunning warm red, quite orange, almost like a Terracotta. I love it, I find it super luminous and perfect for summer!

– Braised:
A dark, cool red, slightly burgundy. Superb and sophisticated, it’s not dull at all.

– Candied:
A gorgeous bright red-pink, almost neon. It’s a perfect color to give a true pop of color to the face!

– Supreme:
A very nice magenta, almost fuchsia but a little bit darker. I love this kind of super bright shades!

Finally, here are the swatches:

And on me:

– Cava:

– Whip:

– Éclair:

– Chutney:

– Purée:

– Braised:

– Candied:

– Supreme:

In summary:

[wprs-pros][wprs-cons]

As you probably understood already, I really like this liquid version of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks. If I had to choose, I still think I will go for the classic stick versions, but these Liquified lipsticks are really super comfortable and moisturizing, so they’re perfect for the season! smile
