I don’t own any of the Chocolate palettes but I just couldn’t resist the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette…
And incredible but true, I haven’t bought it just for its packaging. I actually bought despite its packaging! tongue
It’s funny, but even if I love the pink/small hearts/bunnies Love Flush Blush palette packaging, I find the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette packaging and too much and super kitsch.
This particular shade of pink (very Barbie), the fact that it is very thick and metallic, the small hearts everywhere, the typo… I don’t know, it looks like a toy palette for my 4 year old niece.
But I was still quite curious because first, I’m a fan of the color selection proposed in the palette and second, I saw good reviews in a lot of blogs/YouTube channels (non sponsored ones, to be specific)(Too Faced has a strong tendency to partnership with many bloggers and YouTubers I don’t find particularly trustworthy).

The dominant tone in the palette is rather cool and pinkish but there are also some very useful neutral brown, caramel and gold kind of shades to satisfy the warm tone lovers (like me).
Overall, I find it rather well balanced and quite versatile. This is the kind of palette you can take with you on vacation (obviously, I have to take something else with it, but it’s because I have a #realproblem: I am unable to pack a light suitcase) (Emirates and its 30 kilos of baggage allowance is such a blessing! wink ).
All the eyeshadows are infused with cocoa powder and the palette smells like chocolate (I will take a wild guess and tell you that they probably added some chocolate perfume because it’s quite strong). Honestly, I expected the worst, but the smell is quite nice at the end.
Well, personally, I don’t really see the point, but I have no doubt about the fact that I’m probably not the main target of this kind of eyeshadow palette #tooold wink
Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette, my test and thoughts:
– Packaging:
Well, you guessed it, I’m not a fan. This pink metal case is not really my cup of tea.
– Practicality:
It contains a mirror, very practical, and because I’m a nice beauty blogger, I would say in its defense that the fact that it’s in metal makes it more solid (and heavier too, so not necessarily ideal for a light suitcase but at least the makeup will be protected during the trip).
– Color Choice and Versatility:
The choice of colors will please pink and cool color lovers (not for everybody’s taste, I guess but I love it). There are also enough neutral colors to make it an easy palette to use, but there are also some more bright and fun eyeshadows. I haven’t tried the pink fuchsia shade yet (Totally Fetch) but I’m sure it will look great when used as a liner on the lower lash line!
The variety of finishes allows for many different makeup looks, from the most natural to the most intense, very neutral or colorful, matte or shimmery…
I also like the fact that 2 light eyeshadows are larger than the others: Divinity, which is a great base fleshy color and Satin Sheets, a sublime highlighter shade. These are 2 eyeshadows that I personally use with each makeup look, so it’s great to have more of them! smile
– Overall Eyeshadow Quality:
I found the overall quality of the eyeshadows pretty good: a texture that blends easily, a good pigmentation, not a lot of fall-outs…
However, some of them are “stiffer” than others and the pigmentation is not the greatest. For example, I don’t really like Black Currant (I find it very powdery and with a poor pigmentation). Same for Earl Greyl… uneasy
But the rest of the shades are great so, it’s all right! smile
– Value For Money:
The palette value for money is pretty good in my opinion. 16 good eyeshadows (well, at least 14 lol) for $49 is a great deal.
– Availability:
The palette is part of the permanent collection of the brand and it’s available on the Too Faced website and also Sephora.com (it’s also available in Dubai at Sephora).
Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette, the colors:
– Almond Truffle: I love this light matte purple taupe, which is a perfect transition shade for a taupe, pink or plum smokey eye makeup look. The shadow texture is super creamy and it blends easily.
– Satin Sheets: this shade is a highlighter, a very light metallic golden pink. Very luminous, it catches the light to brighten the eyes.
– Sprinkles: a beautiful shimmery baby pink with golden reflects. It’s a little darker than Satin Sheets and more shimmery than metallic.
– Mollasses Chip: my favorite of the palette. It’s a gorgeous golden coppery bronze, with a very creamy texture. Such a beauty! smile
– Malted: a beautiful matte chocolate with gold glitters (they don’t really transfer on the skin). Perfect to intensify a look in the outer corner or along the lash line.
– Cashew Chew: a light peachy pink shade, slightly shimmery, perfect to apply on the eyelid to brighten the eyes.
– Cotton Candy: a cool Barbie pink very shimmery. I was quite scared by this color, but in fact it goes well with the color of my eyes. wink
– Café Au Lait: a light metallic taupe beige, slightly champagne. It’s very light and the texture is creamy and pigmented.
– Bordeaux: a beautiful matte warm burgundy-brown. The texture is creamy and it blends very well, which is not always the case for this type of color, a good point! smile
– Mocha: a matte beige, perfect for a light, natural color transition. It also blends very easily and it’s not powdery.
– Black Currant: a disappointment for me this one, not super pigmented and with a lot of fallouts… It’s a dark plum with pink glitter. The pigmentation is poor, it’s quite sheer and the texture is stiff. You really need to layer it for a better coverage. uneasy
– Dark Truffle: a lovely shimmery chocolate with a good pigmentation. A perfect color to intensify a look!
– Pecan Praline: a matte grey/beige/taupe, very neutral, a beautiful transition color, perfect for to blend darker shades.
– Totally Fetch: the brightest color in the palette! This is a beautiful iridescent fuchsia pink. I’m too scared to use it but I think that it could be super pretty along the lash line, especially with brown eyes!
– Earl Greyl: the second disappointing eyeshadow in the palette. This is an iridescent charcoal grey almost teal. I find it quite stiff and not a lot of pigmention. Well, as it’s not my type of color anyway, I wouldn’t have used it much anyway, so I guess it doesn’t really matter… ;)
– Divinity: a very useful light semi-matte flesh color, with very fine iridescent particles. I use it mostly as a base all over the eyelid to unify.

– Look 1:
For this look, I applied Divinity all over the eyelid, Almond Truffle in the crease, Sprinkles in the center of the eyelid, Dark Truffle in the outer V, Black Currant on top of my liner to intensify it, and Satin Sheets in the inner corner. My liner is Charlotte Tilbury Elisabeth Violet.
– Look 2:
I applied Divinity all over the eyelid, Mocha in the crease, Cashew Chew on the eyelid, Molasses Chip on the center of the eyelid, and Satin Sheets in the inner corner. Mon black gel liner is by Inglot (#loveforever).
– Look 3:
My favorite look ;). I applied Divinity all over the eyelid, Mocha and Bordeaux in the crease, Bordeaux on the eyelid, Molasses Chip in the center of the eyelid, and Satin Sheets in the inner corner. My liner is Charlotte Tilbury Bedroom Black.
– Look 4:
A simple look because it was all about my lips ( Santa Ana by Ofra Cosmetics). I applied Divinity as a base, Pecan Praline in the crease, Cafe Au Lait on the eyelid, Satin Sheets in the inner corner. My liner is Charlotte Tilbury Bedroom Black.

I’m pretty satisfied with the overall quality of this palette while I really had a negative a priori at first (this ugly pink packaging is definitely not my cup of tea). The shades are quite well chosen and I have (almost) no complaints about their quality. For the price, it’s a nice selection of colors and you can do many beautiful and original makeup looks.
