Minimalist skincare routine, a 2019 beauty trend

In 2019, your skincare routine is on a diet! The minimalism trend is now also happening in your bathrooms.

South Korea has been the best indicator of future beauty trends for several years. After they exported their typically long and complex skincare routines, with as many different products as steps, the trend there is now focusing on a much shorter routine, based on the essentials, called “skip-care”.

In this routine, the number of products is reduced considerably and the steps considered unnecessary are skipped.

This more minimalist skincare routine allows brands to develop more targeted products, with more active ingredients and often with innovative hybrid textures, for increased efficiency!

The most interesting example of this trend, in my opinion, is a liquid moisturizer (as liquid as water) that can tone, moisturize and protect the skin in just one single step. It can replace 3 steps in your routine (essence, serum, and moisturizer) because the ingredients are multi-task and can hydrate the skin at all levels!

Its name, the LANEIGE Cream Skin Refiner (click to read my detailed review).

This product is super quick and efficient to use, and it definitely won’t clutter up your bathroom!

And you, are you a fan of minimalist skincare routines? What are your favorite multi-task products?
