ColourPop is back on the blog! Come on, I know you missed it! wink Today, let’s talk about the brand new Pressed Powder!
Indeed, ColourPop just released some new powder eyeshadows! I must admit that I didn’t expect them to do so because of the success of their great Super Shock Shadows.
But to be honest, I use my powder eyeshadows for my daily makeup more often than my “cream” ones. (Well, they’re not exactly cream. The texture of the Super Shock Shadows is quite unique)(if you want to know more, check my review wink )
At first, I was not sure I wanted to try them because the value for money is not the best, in all honesty. 5 dollars for 1.2 g, it doesn’t look expensive, but if you compare to Makeup Geek, for example, it’s not the most competitive. (in a MUG eyeshadow, you have 1.8g of product for 6 dollars)
But as usual, ColourPop have come up with super tempting colors, and as I’m very weak, I couldn’t resist very long…

What the brand says about them:
“Highly pigmented shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly.”
These are classic powder eyeshadows, in a pan format. They must be organized in an empty palette. ColourPop also provides a free empty palette for every 4 eyeshadows ordered.
This palette is cute, but I’m not a big fan because it’s a little bulky. I prefer my Zpalettes (yes, I am aware of Zpalette scandal which happened two weeks ago, but I won’t throw away the ones I already have! uneasy )
Regarding their composition, it’s a basic powder eyeshadow (there’s talc in them, in case you were wondering). But good point, they’re cruelty-free and made in the USA. smile
For now, there are 50 shades, all stunning, and they are available in 2 finishes: matte and metallic. I’m lucky, these are my two favorite finishes! wink
ColorPop also releases limited edition collections with exclusive colors quite often. Sometimes the limited edition colors are added to the permanent line, sometimes they are not. Usually, it depends if the shades are a big seller or not, simple as that.
ColourPop is a very dynamic brand, and they also stick to the demands of their customers, which is great.

ColourPop Pressed Powder eyeshadows, my test and thoughts:
– Color range: as usual, ColorPop is killing it with the colors. All shades are stunning, super trendy and easy to wear. The 9 I chose are exactly what I want to wear at the moment, and I was delighted with the colors when I received them.
– Pigmentation: the metallics are well pigmented, in one layer. The matte shades are a little less pigmented, you need to layer a little to have a more intense color on the eyelid. Their coverage is OK, though, it’s not terrible, just to be specific.
– Texture: they blend super well and are super easy to work with. However, they make a little bit of fall-out when you apply them, especially the matte ones which are a bit powdery.
– Finish: MUG’s Foiled eyeshadows matte finish is velvety, not chalky at all. The metallic finish is very luminous and gives a lot of radiance to the look. It’s not the most intense metallic finish I tried, though (they’re more metallic), but they’re still super pretty!
– Lasting power: they last 10 hours on me with an eye primer (I have to use a primer because I have oily eyelids).
– Value for money: they retail price is $5 for 1.2g of product. The quality is pretty good, so I will say that it is good value for money without being the most competitive.
ColourPop Pressed Powder eyeshadows, the colors:
– Made To Last: a cool neutral medium beige matte with a mauve undertone. On my skin color, it’s an ideal transition shade!
– Wake Up Call: a very pretty matte light brown, like a sand color, with a rather warm tone. Same, I like it very much in the crease, as a transition shade.
– Wait For It: I absolutely love this matte orange peach shade. It’s super luminous, and I haven’t got any similar color in my collection. I use it all over the eyelid or in the crease to warm up a look. It’s super versatile!
– Get Out: a second favorite! It’s a very pretty pink berry shade. I sometimes struggle with this kind of colors because they can be too red or too dark but here, not at all, it’s really a very luminous color. And if you have green in your eyes, Get Out really makes it stand out! I love it and I use it on the eyelid, along the lash line, in the crease… It’s a very versatile shade also! smile
– Let Me Explain: a golden white metallic ultra-luminous. I use it mostly in the inner corner, it makes me look more awake instantly! smile
– Liar Liar: a pale and metallic pink champagne. Ideal in the inner corner and all over the eyelid for a very luminous and flattering makeup look.
– You Know The Drill: a metallic golden bronze, quite light. It’s very easy to wear, perfect for an everyday look. It’s rather neutral, not too coppery, stunning!
– High Strung: a metallic dusty rose, I literally had to have it! I love it, it’s my favorite of the bunch, it’s gorgeous, I need to buy a second one as a backup in case ColourPop decided to stop producing this color. (Yep, I love it that much)
– Come And Get It: love this warm duo-chrome pink with a golden shift in it. It’s beautiful and super luminous. It will be perfect for the coming Spring and Summer! smile

Look 1:
On this natural look, I wear:
– Wake Up Call in the crease and along the lash line,
– Wait For It on the outer V,
– You Know The Drill on the eyelid,
– Let me Explain in the inner corner.
My eyeliner is also by Colourpop, it’s the shade Overboard.
On my lips, it’s the Makeup Geek Plush Crème in the shade Old Soul.
Look 2:
A pink makeup look with:
– Made To Last in the crease,
– Get Out on the outer V and along the lash line,
– High Strung on the eyelid,
– Liar Liar in the inner corner.
My eyeliner is my usual Inglot.

On this summery look, I wear:
– Wake Up Call in the crease,
– Get Out also in the crease, along the lash line and on the outer V,
– Come And Get It on the eyelid,
– Let Me Explain in the inner corner and on the center of the eyelid.
My liner is again by Colourpop, it’s the shade Stomper.

These Pressed Powder eyeshadows are not bad, not bad at all! The matte ones are not the best I’ve tried (I prefer the Anastasia Beverly Hills ones and also the Makeup Geek) but they’re still pretty decent, and I really like the metallic shades (the colors are super pretty!)
