I swore I wouldn’t buy anything from the Too Faced Sweet Peach collection. Too much hype kills the hype, don’t you think? Well, I should have followed my first instinct! wink
The Too Faced Sweet Peach collection is absolutely everywhere at the moment: on Instagram, YouTube, every beauty blogs… It’s typically the kind of stuff that usually makes me pass on something, and besides, when the first Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette came out, I didn’t buy it. Too Faced released it last summer and it was such a success that they decided to re-launch it, to add it to the permanent catalog and to do a complete makeup collection around this “peachy” theme.
And the peachy craze is here to last because it’s the new ‘on trend’ color! Many brands have been inspired by the commercial success of Too Faced and have also released collections similar to this shade (Colourpop, Kylie Cosmetics…)
To be honest, the Sweet Peach Glow face palette is the only product I like in this collection. I’m not feeling the colors of the eyeshadow palette, I find the blush Papa Don’t Peach pretty but quite common, and the Oil Lip Glosses seem gimmicky.
But I was quite attracted to the Sweet Peach Glow face palette, even if its packaging is very similar to some Polly Pocket makeup. (it had to be said!) I liked the nice peachy shade harmony, super flattering for the complexion and so spring-worthy! And it’s super practical to have a bronzer, a blush and a highlighter in the same palette, isn’t it?
In short, as you probably understood, I’m a pro in self-persuasion, so I ordered the palette without looking too much into the reviews of people who hadn’t received it for free (rookie mistake! I should have known better)

It’s a 3-in-1 face palette that contains three luminous, shimmery shades (but without being glittery):
– the first shade is a highlighter, in a golden pink color with a warm undertone. It has a very beautiful iridescent golden shine, with tiny micro glitter.
– the second is a blush with a pretty pink-orange shade (OK, it’s a peach shade), with a shimmery finish and a golden reflect.
– the third one is a bronzer, quite light and with a warm undertone. This one too is very luminous. I would consider it more as a bronzer that warms the skin, not really the kind of contouring bronzer that can be used to sculpt the face.
They’re all powder textures with luminous finishes. The palette does not include any matte shade.
The palette smells like peach. This is the concept of the brand and I knew it, so I wasn’t surprised, but I didn’t expect the scent to be as strong (and as chemical). uneasy

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow palette, my test and thoughts:
– Packaging:
I expected the worst, and I find the packaging pretty cute and fun. There is a gradient of peach colors (light and dark) on the top and a drawing of the fruit also. It is kitsch and quite childish, but the peach on the top reminds me of a cute and kawaii character of a cartoon (Too Faced also made a small goofy animated movie for the release of the collection). I also like the detail of the peachy patterns on the three powders, it’s also quite fun.
The palette is not huge, and it’s metallic, so it’s robust and compact enough to take it with you if you’re traveling. (The Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette is my favorite travel palette for this reason)
– Powders texture and finishes:
The three shades are shimmery powders. The texture is not especially creamy to the touch, but they’re not stiff or too powdery. The shimmery finish is quite subtle, not a big chunk of glitter here. smile
– Scent:
I really don’t like the scent! It’s very strong, and it’s a really chemical peach smell. The first time I used it, I felt a little bit nauseous. Fortunately, the smell fades a bit over the applications (or I’m used to it now). But I’m really not a fan …
– Colours and pigmentation:
So here’s the thing: with the exception of the highlighter which is beautiful and will probably go with many skin colors, I’m afraid that this palette is only suitable for very fair skin tones…
I consider my skin quite light (I’m an NC20-25) and the bronzer and the blush are barely noticeable on me! So yes, the colors are very buildable, but you still have to put a lot for the color to show on the skin! Honestly, I was used to a better pigmentation with Too Faced. The bronzer is more than natural at this level, it’s almost transparent. And about the blush, I have to apply it at least three times to be able to see the color on my cheeks (it’s a very pretty shade, I must add, which makes it even more frustrating). I imagine that on a darker skin tone, it will be difficult to discern anything. It’s a real disappointment because the colors are stunning: flattering, easy to wear and they go with many different looks. But you really have to apply a lot to see them…
– Application:
I apply the three shades with a brush, and they’re easy to blend (with this lack of pigmentation, it’s impossible to apply too much, at least wink )
– Lasting power:
They last pretty well on me, between 6 to 8 hour.
– Value for money:
I’m not really convinced by this palette. For $42, I expect a product of good quality and not a palette with such a lack of pigmentation. Really a shame!

As you can (not) see, it’s difficult to see a lot of color on my skin. And I swear I applied a lot for the photo! Unfortunately, this picture illustrates rather well my point about the fact that the pigmentation is quite weak and that the blush and bronzer are not visible unless you have a very fair skin…

If you’re a Too Faced aficionado, you may want to collect this palette, but I really don’t recommend to. Yes, the shades are very pretty, and the concept is quite fun but the pigmentation is really not the best. And it isn’t worth the $42 in my opinion…
