BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow palette, my review

Let’s talk about a makeup palette with super shiny colors, today, shall we?

Let’s talk about glitter, gold, lovely colors. Let’s talk about frivolous subjects, useless things, but oh so pretty at the same time.
I know it’s hard and it may seem totally inappropriate at the moment, with all the darkness that hit my beloved city Paris, last weekend.
But I don’t want to let fear paralyze me and in my own way, ridiculous and futile probably, I just want to spit in these cowards faces.
So I put some very “perverse” music in the background (Hot Chip, who I saw in concert in Paris during the Rock en Seine festival last summer with my little sister and made us dance like crazy ) and I will write this modest post, in the hope of taking your mind off current events, even if it’s just for a moment with this sparkly palette.

Last summer, I told you all about Champagne Pop, the highlighter BECCA created in collaboration with the YouTuber Jaclyn Hill. Although I’m not so sure about its composition (with mineral oils), I must admit that it probably has been my favorite highlighter recently.
The color is truly sublime, it blends like a dream, is very intense and really lasts very well.
Champagne Pop is a best seller since it was launched, so BECCA naturally decided to release a palette for the holiday including it and also 2 other colors, Pearl and Blushed Copper.
This is a limited edition for now, but who knows? This may change … wink

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette, presentation:

What the brand says about it:

A Sephora-exclusive, curated palette of three limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed shades—new Pearl, Blushed Copper, and bestselling Champagne Pop x Jaclyn Hill.
This palette is inspired by the festive holiday season. The shimmering shades are designed to enhance your natural beauty and allow your features to glow. Simply sweep the luxuriously creamy luminizing powders across the face or apply to targeted areas including cheekbones, browbones, and bridge of the nose to see how beautifully they catch the light.

It’s the same formula for the 3 colors of the palette, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula, which I love even if it is full of mineral oil… uneasy

Pearl is a color that doesn’t exist in a larger size but I really hope that BECCA will release this color because I’m obsessed! However, the Liquid and the Poured (cream) versions are available. (and on my wishlist! tongue )
It’s a golden white pearl, which is a sublime highlighter for light to medium complexions. I use it both on the face and in the inner corner of the eye, it’s so perfect!

Champagne Pop is a beautiful light golden peach and I can’t get enough of it since this summer. I told you all about it in my dedicated post.

Blushed Copper is a copper with rose gold reflects, very pigmented and darker than the others. It’s more of a blush than a highlighter. I was not so sure of the color with my skin tone, and I’m still not totally conviced by it actually…
But I love using it as an eye-shadow and I also like to mix it with Champagne Pop to make it more wearable on me.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette, my test and thoughts:

– Formula:

It’s exactly the same formula as Champagne Pop, a Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed.

– Packaging:

Pretty simple, but elegant. It’s a light golden palette with a large mirror, very practical and chic.
Their size is obviously smaller than the larger formats but you don’t need a lot of product, so I’m sure it will last a very long time! (I’ve never finished a highlighter, have you?)

– Finish:

An ultra luminous and intense finish, like every other BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed. I totally get know why every beauty addict raves about them!
I’m obsessed, and I really want to start collecting every one of them (there are plenty of other shades available haaaaa!).

– Color:

I love mixing the shades!
Pearl and Champagne Pop are beautiful together and Blushed Copper with Pop Champagne give you a superb blush if I want a “bronze goddess” makeup look.

– Application:

I generally use my specific highlighter brushes and of course my blush brushes for Blushed Copper.
My favorite:
– for the highlighters: the Sigma F35, the Smashbox Fan Brush, the ZOEVA 105.
– for the blush: the Bobbi Brown Blush Brush, the ZOEVA 126, the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

– Pigmentation:

Amazing for the 3 shades.
For the blush, howeover, it’s better to apply it with a light hand! But the 3 colors are very easy to blend, so no worries.

– Lasting Power:

The lasting power is excellent, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed is probably the longest lasting formula I’ve tried so far (which is quite a statement, as you can imagine).

– Value For Money:

3 shades of Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed for $34, it’s a good deal, don’t you think? (the larger size is $38) wink

Finally, here are the swatches:

And on me:

Here, I’m wearing the 3 shades of the palette mixed together.

In summary:

[wprs-pros][wprs-cons]

I think it’s overall a very good product. The color, the pigmentation and the lasting power are all great. Just a little regret for the choice of Blushed Copper, but it’s just a personal opinion. I would have loved having a color more suitable for my skin tone (like Rose Gold) (next time, Becca? Thank you very much! wink ). But hey, I guess that color will please so many! wink

The BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow palette is available on Sephora.com for $34.

And you, which holiday makeup palette caught your eyes? Tempted by the BECCA Champagne Glow palette?
