This spring, Clinique releases new colors in the Cheek Pop collection, these very cute daisy-shaped blushes. So cute that you’ll want to collect all of them! (well, at least, I do wink )
I really took my time to join the tribe of the blush worshipers (probably because my activities in the club of lipstick admirers and the association of nail polish addicts anonymous were taking up too much of my time), but this time, I’m feeling very committed!
I’m still obsessed by my ColourPop blushes but I was always intrigued by those lovely flower shaped Cheek Pop blushes by Clinique that first came out in Spring 2014.
Besides, I still haven’t understood if it was a limited edition or if it was sold in some stores and not in others… Any idea?
One sure fact however, is that the reviews were quite unanimous among beauty bloggers around the world and after I read many rave reviews, I basically needed to see them myself!
But obviously, by the time I was interested in them, they were constantly out of stock in the stores where I went searching for them.
Thankfully, I’ve been able to find them online but I decided to wait until Clinique added more shades to make a little haul…
So, I chose Peach Pop (from the 2014 collection), Rosy Pop and Melon Pop (both released this year). I surprised myself with my choice of colours but at the moment, I’m completely obsessed by nude and peach colors (I also bought a pink one, you know, to balance everything out wink )
Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, presentation:
What Clinique said about them:

These blushes have a very unique texture, indeed. This is a hybrid texture. The brand described it as being between cream and powder but for me, it’s really the same kind of texture as the new MUFE bronzers which I spoke about a few weeks ago. It’s a kind of fairly hard dough, like a powder gel.
12 shades are available in total. 4 from last year’s collection and 8 new ones. But I’m not sure that the 12 shades are available everywhere though.
Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, the details:
– Innovation and formula:
The innovation here is in this hybrid texture, between solid cream and powder. The advantages: no powdery effect at all on the cheeks and it’s much easier to not overdo the application than with some more traditional blushes.
Difficult to resist with this lovely daisy-shaped blush. It makes it very desirable and a object you really want to show. In the Instagram era, it’s always a bonus! In addition, the pattern doesn’t fade with the use. Wonderful, isn’t it?
The finish is not matte or glittery but with a very subtle shimmer. It’s very luminous. Perfect for sunny days! wink
Since this spring, the color range has grown considerably. From 4 colors launched in 2014, Clinique has increased to 12 in 2015. And honestly, I want them all (okay, I admit, it’s at least as much for packaging as it is for the color selection!).
So I chose Melon Pop, a nude apricot shade which is my favorite at the moment. At first, I was a little afraid because it seems very light, but finally, it’s an easy color to wear that gives a radiant but very subtle glow and goes with almost every makeup looks.
Peach Pop is an orangey coral shade that looks great for a more summery makeup look. The undertones are very warm and it’s perfect to add a bit of warm to the complexion. It’s very flattering when you’re slightly tanned and I imagine that these kinds of colors will perfectly suit a medium or darker complexion.
Rosy Pop is a raspberry pink that gives a very fresh pop of colour to the complexion. It’s more the kind of colors that I wear in winter or when I do makeup looks with cooler colors (plum or taupe). You must have a light hand with this color and don’t do as I did on the picture you will see at the end of the article where it looks like I’m going for a little 80s revival. wink
– Application:
I apply them with a blush brush rather dense and round (this is a personal preference, I am not a fan of angled brushes for blush).
My favorite with these blushes:
– the Multi Task and Stippling Brush by Real Techniques
– the Foundation Stippling Brush by Makeup Geek (which I find too small to apply the fondation but perfect for blushes)
– and of course my favorite, the Bobbi Brown blush brush.
The pigmentation is excellent! The only one with which I have a heavy hand is Melon Pop, but I think it has more to do with its color (light) than its pigmentation..
Very good! They all lasts between 8 and 10 hours on me.
I would say that $21 it a pretty decent value for money compared to other high end brands. But it’s difficult for me to buy any makeup products which cost more than $5 now that I know ColourPop. wink
