ColourPop Where The Light Is by Kathleen Lights, my review

ColourPop and the YouTuber Kathleen Lights  have teamed up to create a set of 4 Super Shock Shadows Where The Light Is.

So basically, two of my obsessions of the moment were combined and it was physically impossible for me to resist buying the result of this colab!

ColourPop Where The Light Is by Kathleen Lights, presentation:

This set has been created in collaboration with Kathleen Lights, a YouTuber who has an undeniable talent for makeup and who makes truly inspiring makeup tutorials.
Kathleen has amazing green eyes and she loves her eye makeup in neutral colors but with rather warm under tones. So, we’re basically twins! (ah ah ah if only…)

Well, I am clearly not like her but the colors of the quad were screaming my name, and I think that’s the kind of colors which are perfect for summer.

The quad contains two mats eyeshadows (Glow and Cornelious), and two metallic ones (Blaze and Kathleenlights). Blaze is also glittery.
The 4 colors are exclusive and are not sold alone off the set.

If you want a more detailed description of ColourPop eyeshadows (texture, application, lasting power etc.), I did a complete review about the Super Shock Shadows a few weeks ago! smile

Glow:

This is a matte eyeshadow in a very light flesh/ natural beige color. It’s lighter than my skin tone but it blends quite well with the color of my eyelid.
It’s a perfect base to apply all over the lid but I also really like to use it in the inner corner of the eye, to highlight naturally. It is very covering so it’s great if you need to correct a strongly pigmented eyelid or if you have small veins to hide.

Cornelious:

Cornelious is a matte light orangey brown color. It’s a perfect transition shade, or even applied alone on the eyelid for a natural effect. I’ve been using this eyeshadow very often. It’s a color so convenient to have in your makeup kit.

Kathleenlights:

This is clearly the star of the set. This is a metallic amber, a kind of coppery gold, with very warm undertones. It’s like a beautiful almost orange, yellow golden shade. When she describes this color, Kathleen Lights calls it her ColourPop version of Amber Lights by MAC (which is her favorite eyeshadow of all time apparently) and it’s true that it’s very very close. I would say that Kathleenlights is a little less orange than Amber Lights, which is totally fine by me because I’m not a fan of too orange tones.
So I usually prefer to apply it in small touches on my eyelids and it’s not the eyeshadow that I will apply generously all over my eyelid…

Blaze:

…however, with Blaze, I wouldn’t hesitate! bigsmile
Blaze is my favorite of the set. This is an absolutely gorgeous bronze/ khaki/ dark gold metallic shade with lots of micro-glitter in the same tones.
My photos don’t do it justice as it’s extremely luminous, almost like liquid metal when it’s applied on the lid. I find that this kind of color really suits easily all kind of eyes’ color. It’s dark but not too much, neutral but luminous. In short, for me, it has become one of my essentials. This is typically the eyeshadow I go for when I lack imagination, or when I want to wear a makeup look that I know will suit me.

Here they are on me:

I applied Glow all over the lid and in my inner corner, Cornelious in the crease and Blaze on the lid and I just added a touch of Kathleenlights on the center of the eyelid and along the lower lash line.
I also applied the Super Shock Cheeks in the shade Prenup on my cheeks and my lipstick is the Lippie Stix Lumière.

Sorry for my zoom picture which is a little bit blurry, but the metallic effect is complicated to capture in a photo (especially if you don’t have the good lighting).

In summary:
