EOS, the oh-so-cute lip balms

Sometimes, I want to buy a beauty product only because I love the packaging… but this is not the most important thing in a beauty product, is it?

That’s exactly what happened to me with the EOS lip balms.

EOS or Evolution Of Smooth is an American brand, specialised in moisturising products: for body, hands and of course for lips. They also sell shaving creams, but I was not really interested.;)

I’m completely obsessed with lip balms in general: if I see one with a perfume I like and nice packaging, I just can’t resist!
Most of the time, they’re very cheap, so yes, I have what could be described as a ‘small collection’…ahem.

What I like about the EOS lip balms, on top of the super cute packaging, is the great formula of the products:
-100% natural ingredients
-95% organic ingredients
-a lot of shea butter and vitamin E inside

The packaging and the shape of the stick inside make it very easy to apply on your lips; it is very nice to use.

But you also have to know something about those lip balms: every time you use it in public, everybody around you will completely fall in love with this oh-so-cute little round thing and you will have to explain where you found it, if there are more perfumes… they will want to know everything!
That’s exactly what happens to me every time I use it and my husband also saw that same situation with one of his colleagues at the office who bought a few in New York and used it here in Dubai.
It’s really a “show-off” lip balm!

Isn’t it, Kim?

The lip balms perfumes are very nice and not sickening at all. I chose to buy a box with 4 of them with different perfumes:
– honeysuckle honeydew (my favorite so far)
– sweet mint
– pomegranate raspberry
– vanilla

And what about their moisture effect? Eos lip balm is a great protecting and moisturising product; it’s not too shiny when applied on your lips (I hate it when it is shiny) and it gives a semi-matte finish which is perfect for a good lipstick base.

The size of the product is very generous, I have been using mine (I started with the Honeysuckle) for over a month now, and there is still a lot left.

The only bad thing to say about EOS lip balms is that they are very hard to get if you’re not living in North America.
In Dubai, I found mine in on a really cool website called Souq.com and it was not too expensive (170 dirhams for 5 lip balms).

In a magazine I came across another brand which has the same type of products, called BALMI but reviews indicate that the formula isn’t as great as EOS, there are a lot of chemical products in them… I haven’t tried them, so if you have, feel free to leave a comment below and share your impressions!

So, have you heard about EOS lip balms, have you tried them?
